John Gaytcliffe

The following information has been extracted from Newcourt's Repertorium Vols 1 and 2.

John (or Jacob) Gaytcliffe was collated to the Rectory of Thorley on 11 September 1470.

Some four years later he exchanged the benefice for that of St Nicholas', Great Wakering in Essex, where he was instituted as Rector on 25 August 1474.

John remained at St Nicholas' until his death sometime before 7 May 1482, when he was succeeded as Rector by John Bolsar.
